Carpet & Floor Care

The floor is the first thing anyone judges, and the first thing winter ruins

Nobody walks into an office and compliments the floor. They just decide, in about two seconds, whether the place is looked after. Between November and April in Minneapolis that decision gets made by salt, sand and melted slush that six months of foot traffic grind into your carpet and your finish.

Limpio handles floors in two layers. Vacuuming and mopping happen on every visit as part of the regular scope of work, and deep care runs on a schedule we set during the walkthrough: extraction for carpet, scrubbing and refinishing for tile and hard floors. You never have to notice the floor, which is exactly the point.

What’s Included

What our floor care covers

Two layers: what happens every visit, and what happens on a schedule.

Every Visit

Vacuuming and mopping on every single visit, with extra passes on entries and high traffic lanes where the wear actually happens.

Carpet Deep Extraction

Scheduled hot water extraction that pulls out what vacuuming cannot reach: embedded soil, salt residue and the grey lane down the middle of your main corridor.

Tile & Grout

Machine scrubbing that gets into the grout lines. Restrooms and break room tile pick up more than they look like they do, and grout is where it shows first.

Hard Floors

Scrub and refinish on a schedule for vinyl, LVT, sealed concrete and wood, so the shine comes back instead of slowly disappearing.

Entry Matting & Salt

Entry mats cleaned and reset all winter, because most of the damage to your floors walks in through the door in the first ten feet.

One Plan, One Invoice

Floor care lives inside the same service agreement as the rest of your cleaning. No separate vendor to schedule, no separate bill to approve.

Winter in the Twin Cities

What salt and ice melt actually do to a commercial floor

Ice melt is not just dirt that happens to be white. The chloride in it is alkaline, and once it dries into carpet fibre it keeps attracting moisture and pulls the colour out of the pile. On hard floors it eats the finish from the surface down, which is why a lobby that looked fine in October looks dull and streaked by February even though somebody has been mopping it all along.

Regular mopping spreads the residue around; it does not remove it. What removes it is extraction on carpet and a neutralising scrub on hard floors, done before the season embeds it rather than in April when the damage is already permanent. That is why our winter schedule is different from our summer one, and why the walkthrough asks what your entry looks like in January and not just today.

Most of it is preventable with matting that actually gets cleaned and a deep care schedule set before the first snow. Handled that way, your floors come out of April looking like they did in October, and you never spent a single meeting talking about them.

FAQ

Common Questions

How often should commercial carpet be deep cleaned?

For most Minneapolis offices, twice a year is the baseline: once before winter and once after it. Entries, corridors and anywhere clients walk usually need a third pass in midwinter. We set the schedule during the walkthrough based on your traffic, not on a generic calendar.

Is floor care included in regular cleaning or billed separately?

Vacuuming and mopping are part of every visit and included in your regular scope of work. Deep extraction and hard floor refinishing are scheduled work, written into the same service agreement with their frequency and price agreed up front. One plan and one invoice, with nothing appearing on it that you did not approve.

Can you take care of tile, carpet and hard floors in the same building?

Yes, and most of our accounts have all three. Each surface gets its own method and its own frequency, which is the part generic cleaning plans get wrong. Sealed concrete, LVT and glued down carpet tile in the same suite do not want the same treatment.

Do you handle entry mats in winter?

Yes. Mats are the cheapest floor protection you have and the most commonly ignored: a saturated mat stops absorbing and starts redistributing. We clean and reset them through the season as part of the plan, so the salt stays in the first ten feet instead of travelling down your corridor.

Do you offer floor care on its own?

Floor care works best inside a recurring plan, because the deep work depends on how well the surface is maintained between visits. It is part of our office cleaning in Minneapolis and of our janitorial services, and it scales down to a small office without changing the standard.

Get your floors on a schedule.

Leave your work email. We walk your space, look at what your floors are actually made of and how they wear, and send a written plan and pricing by email. No obligation, and one more thing you stop having to keep an eye on.
